Allynn Ruth
Neighborhood Matching Fund Project Manager, Seattle, WA

Allynn has extensive experience presenting materials to diverse audiences of every age level, education and experience. She has been a presenter at NUSA at least 4 times, three involving the Neighborhood Matching Fund and one involving the Peoples Academy for Community Engagement (PACE) program. Her presentations have always been warmly received, and highly attended. Allynn remains connected to a great number of people first encountered as part of a NUSA presentation. Allynn has also made presentations and facilitated discussions at the college/university level; been a panelist at numerous grant funders/grant writers workshops. Most of those opportunities have come through recommendations by past participants. Allynn has a BA from Seattle Pacific University, with a major in Social Welfare and a minor in English. She has worked with the City of Seattle for over 40 years, the first ten years was spent at the Seattle City Council. She was both and administrative assistant and a legislative assistant to a City Council Member. In that capacity she was required to make numerous presentations both to the public and other elected officials. Communicating to and with a live audience is one of Allynn’s best skills. She is most effective in getting a point across and is a memorable public speaker. Of public presentations Allynn says, “The reaction is immediate and the opportunity for feedback and an open exchange of ideas is still appealing to me, even in this age of electronic communication.”
