Debbie DeLeon
Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program
Palmetto/North Manatee County


Debbie DeLeon has spent over 30 years in public service within Manatee County working directly with neighborhoods and in the human services field. Debbie was the first Neighborhood Services Coordinator in the Neighborhood Planning Division and has established the protocol for assisting the some 2,400 neighborhoods within the County. She was instrumental in creating the first mapping of all the neighborhoods, developed the Neighborhood Connections Magazine and works directly with neighborhoods such as; Rubonia, Washington Park and Bayshore Gardens.

Debbie administers the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program, is the lead to government for the Palmetto/North Manatee County Enterprise Zone Program, and supervises the Neighborhood Improvement Program and Neighborhood Wellness Strategy. Debbie is fluent in Spanish and is a vital element of the neighborhood team. She actively coordinates events such as the garden gala where citizen from underserved areas access to fresh produce is promoted as well as other nutritional benefits.
