Ms. Janet Bonet
Community Activist


Ms. Janet Bonet, has been a community activist since her youth in the 1970’s. She presented a very successful session in the 2015 NUSA conference. In discussions during and following that session, she was made aware that there is a great deal of interest around how to reach out to and include LEP neighbors in associations, neighborhood improvement projects, community events; all with a goal of getting folks involved as active participants in community organizing and neighborhood action efforts. She has coordinated 15 regional conferences on language access, given more than 100 presentations and trainings on topics related to her profession as well as community activism. She has been a professional interpreter and translator for over 30 years.
