Dr. Tazuko Ouchi, PhD
Professor of Sociology, Edogawa University, Nagareyama-shi, (Tokyo) Chiba, Japan


Dr. Tazuko Ouchi, Ph.D, is currently a professor of Sociology at Edogawa University, Nagareyama-shi, (Tokyo) Chiba, Japan, and Trustee and Chairperson of the International Committee for the Japan Association for Community Policy. She hold a Ph.D. in Sociology, and teaches courses on "Sociology of Community", Sociology of City Government", and "Community Care in Japan".

Dr. Ouchi has attended many NUSA Conferences, and was awarded as a representative of Japan Association for Community Policy for the first international affiliate of NUSA in May 2006. Additionally, she has been involved in the International Collaboration to Neighborhoods, NUSA (Counter Exchange) in 2009 and 2010.

See has published research, articles, and documents on Neighborhood, Government, and Community Development and Empowerment, to include: "Community Governance: From Tradition To Public Participation", "Skills of Self-Governance for Grassroots Organization: and "An US-Japan Comparative Study", and more recent a doctoral dissertation, title "Developmental Process of Neighborhood Organization: Japan-US Comparative Study on Community Governance.
