Thomas Simpson
Planning Associate


Thomas Simpson is a Planning Associate and bcFELLOW graduate in the Dallas office and is deeply involved with different activities surrounding the People Organizing Place (POP) Dallas initiative. POP works to strengthen neighborhoods through engagement, research, data analysis, and other tools that support community advocacy and informed decision-making. Thomas leads the Activating Vacancy initiative, an extension of POP Dallas that leverages art and design to re-imagine abandoned spaces in the Tenth Street neighborhood. Additionally, Thomas is a critical part of the team developing the sustainABLEhouse initiative for scaled implementation, conducting a housing study focused on the potential and challenges of infill development in Dallas.

A native Dallasite, Thomas took his interest in cities to the books while at Princeton University and received a degree in History and Urban Studies, with scholarship focused on urban planning, the history of cities, and transportation.
